Therapy for Survivors of Abuse

Establish safety, heal your body and brain, and solidify your identity.

If you have survived physical or emotional abuse, you may experience:

restlessness or difficulty concentrating

relationships that are plagued with conflict and dissatisfaction

fear of being alone while also wanting freedom

depression, anxiety, and feelings of hopelessness

If we are working together to address experiences of assault, violence, or aggression, we will focus on the following:

Establishing Safety

Your safety is the number one priority in my office, always. This means that we always start by making sure you feel safe in your life and that you have a support system.

Moving Through Pain from the Past

Using a combination of IFS, EMDR, and somatic techniques, I will help you to heal painful memories of what happened.

Understanding the Impact

We will work together to figure out how the events have impacted you mentally and physically so we can address your concerns one by one.

Reintegrating Into Life

It’s likely that your experience has lead to a sense of withdrawing from others or the world. The last phase of our work will be to help you get back into communities you want to be so that you can feel connection and joy.
