Hi, I’m Summer.
I help people who live with pain and anxiety to find peace from the past, relief in the present, and hope for the future.
Specialties & Approach
I specialize in improving the connection to between the mind and body, with an emphasis on treating the effects of trauma, anxiety, and the impact of living with chronic illness.
I received EMDR Training in 2017 and was Certified in 2024. I often integrate EMDR with Internal Family Systems Therapy in order to work with complex trauma and a disconnect between the mind and body.
I completed by Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy training in 2023 as a part of my work to improve the outcomes for my clients by offering the most up-to-date and effective treatments available.
I have worked in a school setting, community mental health clinic, and residential and partial hospitalization level of care in eating disorder treatment.
I am also a Professor of Psychology in the Clinical Psychology graduate program at the University of La Verne.

Summer the Person
When I’m not being a therapist, I love to spend time with my husband and our dog Ronin, take long walks, and try to make progress on my very long list of books to read.
Before I became a therapist, I was a fifth grade teacher. I was also a substitute teacher all throughout graduate school, so I have a special place in my heart for educators.
Additionally, I have my own lived experience of chronic illness, disability, and PTSD. These experiences have deepened my passion for my work, my respect for the clients I work with, and my ability to be with hard things without being overwhelmed by them in session.
